It was an outstanding success: jointly with the organizing Yacht club Bad Wiessee, the sailingcenter Tegernsee hosted blu26 International Swiss Championship 2017, which was an great sailing weekend. 17 teams from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland entered an exciting competition. But in the end, the triumph remained at lake Tegernsee: the team of the sailingcenter racing-squad won surprisingly, setting a clear exclamation mark.

"The participating field including junior world champions, Youth Americas Cup-participants and national champions set a high standard ", summarizes Stephan Eder, Managing Director of the sailingcenter. For the first time, a Swiss Championship umpired open fleet race, led by the international jury Heiko Falch, took place on lake Tegernsee. The races started on Friday with light northern winds (15 knots). Already after racing day one, the Germany sailingcenter-Team with Julius Thomas, Nikolai Sorokin, David Landau and Vitus Huber secured a comfortable head start. "This was the basis for our success", confirms Eder, who is training the juniors.

On Saturday, the participants benefitted from a persistent breeze from the south. Five regattas were conducted – only during the last run the wind started to slow down. "A fantastic sailing day!", says Eder. However, the positions got tighter – meanwhile team Hazel run up and led the ranking. After eight regattas the Tegernsee juniors made it and celebrated the second victory in a row, after blu26 Cup St. Moritz. Second and third places reached the two Swiss teams Giachen Duas und Hazel.
