A vision to create the perfect competition boat in Switzerland has been realised with the blu26. For professional sailor Christian 'Blumi' Scherrer, the concept behind the blu26 was to produce a boat that was both fun to sail and competitive. In collaboration with yachtdesigner Christian Bolinger, a sophisticated deck layout and a timeless, elegant design evolved.
The blu26 's high speed potential and agility are not only impressive when sailing competitively fully crewed, but equally when sailing short-handed just for fun. The balanced feel of the blu26 instills confidence across a wide range of conditions.
With it's narrow beat and lifting keel system, road transportation is simple and safe. Also available is a version with a lifting rudder which make it possible to launch the boat on a slipway without crane. Once on the water, the blu26's solid construction and integral buoyancy give a great sense of security. A developing class delivers exiting racing for ambitious regatta sailors.
Her all-round sailing abilities and low through-life cost make the blu26 ideal for use in schools, events and Match Racing. Indeed, the St. Moritz Match Race, part of the World Match Racing Tour and the Volvo Match Race Cup are using the blu26.
